Honolulu Seawater Air Conditioning, LLC was founded by Ever-Green Energy, LLC of Saint Paul, Minnesota.  The Hawaii limited liability company was founded to develop seawater air conditioning projects in Hawaii.

Ever-Green Energy is a for-profit affiliate of District Energy St. Paul, a non-profit heating utility, and District Cooling St. Paul, a non-profit cooling utility, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and a product of the nation’s most successful public/private energy partnership for over 25 years.

Ever-Green Energy is an experienced leader in energy conservation and the conception, design, operation and management of renewable energy systems.  The company’s mechanical and civil engineers, as well as its operation managers and corporate leadership, are among the most experienced in their field.

Ever-Green Energy personnel have direct experience in developing Scandinavian projects, including Europe’s largest seawater air conditioning project in Stockholm, Sweden.  The Stockholm system includes approximately 80,000 tons of air conditioning load and is still expanding.

The Honolulu project's seawater engineer, Makai Ocean Engineering, undertook the deep water side design for the Toronto, Canada, and Cornell University projects that are currently in operation.  Makai also was the design engineer for the Natural Energy Laboratory seawater cooling project located at Kona on the Big Island.  The Natural Energy Laboratory project was successfully initiated over 20 years ago and has been expanded and extended.
